Acceptable Use Policy

Community Guidelines.

Plotbun is a creator-first visual-novel platform. The rules below define what creators may publish, how moderation works, and what happens when something needs to come down.

Allowed Content

  • Fiction across genres including mature themes within the rating you choose.
  • AI-assisted work — provided you clearly disclose AI involvement (badge appears automatically when meta.aiAssisted is set).
  • Derivative work where you hold the necessary license or fair-use grounds.
  • Translations and ports of your own work.

Forbidden Content

  • Illegal content: child sexual abuse material (CSAM), real-person sexual content without consent, terrorism/incitement.
  • Spam: mass uploads of low-quality work, copy-paste listings, SEO doorways.
  • Impersonation: claiming another platform's IP, real person, or another creator's identity without license.
  • Malware: any export bundling executable code that exfiltrates player data, mines crypto, or loads remote payloads outside the declared runtimeLLMEndpoint.
  • Hate speech that targets protected classes with violence or dehumanization.

Moderation Process

  1. Reports are filed by any signed-in player from the listing detail page.
  2. Admins review reports in /admin/reports; target response time is 72 hours.
  3. Listings under review remain publicly visible; flagged + violating listings move to _taken_down_ and 410 Gone for the public.
  4. Owners see their listing's status and may appeal via the moderation reason channel.
  5. Admin actions are logged with the cited guideline section so creators understand the basis.

Account Consequences

Graduated response based on severity and history:

  1. Warning — first minor violation; the listing is taken down with a clear reason.
  2. Listing takedown — repeated minor or single moderate violation; listing removed from discovery.
  3. Account suspension — pattern of violations; protected-route access blocked for a fixed window.
  4. Account ban — severe or repeated violations; all listings auto-takedown, account disabled.

Buyers' entitlements remain valid for paid content even after creator suspension or listing takedown — the host keeps the bundle accessible via /games/<slug>.

Report a Listing

Each listing detail page has a Report button. Provide a short reason; reports are pseudonymous to admins (your userId / handle is never shown to admins, only a session-key digest).

Track your filed reports at /community/reports.
